Eklutna Lake Trailhead Overflow Parking Expansion

Project Overview:

This project expanded the existing parking at an Eklutna Lake trailhead from 20 to 40 spaces, while and provided overflow parking on the “uphill side” of the existing lot. Improved traffic patterns were constructed to allow drivers hauling trailers to pull through the lot, which increased both the usability and safety of the area.

Blue Arrow Surveys was instrumental in discovering the need for a project redesign early in the process. Blue Arrow Surveys identified existing utilities that were in the way of the planned design and laid out a solution that worked in the field.

Survey Specific Tasks:

1. Established of both vertical and horizontal project control.
2. Provided slope stakes and the capture of existing grade elevations.
3. QC/QA on project plans, with specific emphasis on utilities and planned road alignments and profiles.
4. Post-construction as-built and volume computations.
